World must stop backing Yunus’s bid to undo gender empowerment in Bangladesh, no protection for female populace
Due to Yunus regime’s brazen backing for lawlessness and Islamist jihadists who are stoking inflammatory speeches to stoke gender based violence, rape has become a lethal weapon to stop women participating from public sphere. On April 15, in the home town of Yunus, a 14 year girl was raped on a moving bus after the driver, helper and supervisor forced the ill fated girl to stay inside the bus and later violated her with impunity.
This chilling rape and the tragic ordeal of the 14 year victim illustrates complete absence of law and order to protect girls and deliberate promotion of hardline Islamists keeping them out of purview of law emerged a stark feature of Yunus’s rule to plunge Bangladesh into a pit a chaos and anarchy
